Myrmica sp.

General description: As Myrmica sp., the literary references of the genus Myrmica are summarized here, which cannot be adequately interpreted. First of all, these are references of Ruzsky (1903, 1905, 1907). M.D. Ruzsky interpreted the names “Myrmica scabrinodis”, “Myrmica lobicornis” (“Myrmica scabrinodis lobicornis”) very widely. These names, as he interpreted them, included a whole range of modern species (Radchenko, Elmes, 2010), and without studying the relevant collection material it is difficult to understand to which of them this or that Ruzsky's note refers. In addition, Zh.V. Savranskaya (Grebennikov et al., 2002) was mentioned for Kalmykia “Myrmica bessarabica Nassonov, 1889” - a species whose status is currently unclear (Radchenko, Elmes, 2010). Since these specimens could not be studied in the preparation of this catalogue, the references based on them also cannot be interpreted in a clearly.
